Forest Students Visit Penn State

On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, students from Forest Area School District went to Penn State Dubois to participate in Engineering Day.  The day included hands-on activities, led by Penn State undergraduate students.  The 2 activities involved coding with iRobots, which they could program to draw a picture and play music and they were also given the task of creating a landing zone that would catch an egg without the egg breaking. They also had a tour of the campus. The day concluded with a panel discussion of current Penn State Engineering students from Dubois and main campus.  The students were able to ask questions about college life and different programs and extracurriculars that are offered at Penn State,  In the first picture, West Forest sophomores Bobby Payne, Tara Brown and Hayley VanDyke (left to right) show the cradle they built for the egg-drop activity. In the second picture, East Forest students Zach Walton, Adrian Potter and Logan Stevenson (left to right) pose in front of the Nittany Lion.
